Millennial Mayors Congress has not received any gifts yet
On Saturday, December 3, 2011, the Millennial Mayors Congress formally adopted its Millennial Vision for Metro Detroit. Member cities will now shift to implementing the vision. At this meeting, the Congress also voted on our next initiative, the first step towards achieving the ambitious goals laid out in the vision. In 2012, we’ll be taking on regional vibrancy mapping.

This summer, the Congress has expanded on its Millennial engagement survey findings to forge a new vision for prosperity in metro Detroit. Beginning with the six top issues pulled from last year’s survey— economic opportunities, vibrant places, transportation, education, environment and government—the Congress organized three focus groups in order to obtain a better picture of how young metro Detroiters prioritize these issues in creating their ideal communities.

The Millennial Mayors Congress is convening a series of four focus groups in the month of June to explore Millennial priorities for metro Detroit's future. The focus groups are part of the Congress's regional visioning initiative, an effort to define a region that encompasses the needs and desires of not only the governmental officials we work with, but also of the young people who live in our cities.
