How to Join the Millennial Mayors Congress

Inspired to get involved with the Millennial Mayors Congress? Your city can participate by completing the three easy actions outlined below. For each of these, the Suburbs Alliance provides support to make the process simple and smooth for the city. The Mayor Agreement and sample resolution provide additional information about these steps.

1. The mayor signs the Mayoral Participation Agreement.

2. The City Council passes a resolution stating its support for participating in the Congress and its understanding of the 2009-10 issue focus and the regional, inter-generational nature of the Congress as articulated in the charter.

3. The City Council appoints 1 or 2 Millennial representatives (18-35 years old) to serve as the City's young delegates to the Congress. For assistance in naming your Millennial representatives, contact Sharon at the Suburbs Alliance at sharon@suburbsalliance.org.
